How many “cloud” Storage could we have with single mail account for free ?

Dear reader, this time i will share how much “cloud storage” if you have just one single mail account. But before we go, just say you have one single google mail account.

1. Dropbox http://www.dropbox.com
Service from dropbox will give you 2 GB. And will be more if you :
Connect to your facebook account (get free 250MB), Posting about dropbox to Twitter (125 MB), Follow @Dropbox on Twitter(125 MB), Linking with Twitter (125MB), Tell the team, why you love Dropbox (125 MB), Just Follow the tutorial (250 MB). Refer friend to use dropbox, and your friend use dropbox, you will get 500MB per friends and upto 16 GB.

A #4: Yeah…, we have Gimp, Inkscape and it’s a rocks designing graphic tools.

A #5:Yeah we have exaile, audacious VLC.

Q #6: And what about driver for printer …?

A #6: Well, with my experience, i never installed a driver printer since i using linux, you know why ? because magically linux can detect most of printer that human used to it.

Cool Network Icon for Dia

Yeah…, using default dia , it’ not enough for creating cool presentation abaout networking, yeah we need another icon. We can download it from here . Ok let do this.

1. Install Dia (if you never installed it):

$ sudo apt-get install dia

2. Copy your icon that you already download from here, to /usr/share/dia/

$ sudo cp /home/your-user/Downloads/rib-network-v0.1.tar.gz /usr/share/dia/

3. Go to directory  /usr/share/dia/ :

$ sudo cd  /usr/share/dia/

4. Extract your icon
$ sudo tar zxvf rib-network-v0.1.tar.gz

5. Open your dia.

6.  Pick icon via “Other Sheet” –> “RIB-Network” then tarra, this the result:

How to install NS-2 without tears ?

If you really desperate how to installing some network Simulator called NS-2 this could be fix your broken heart:

Make sure your sistem operating is good damn Linux Operating System, in my case i use BlankOn Operating System version 6.1 Ombilin(Cool Indonesian Linux Operating System). You can download it from : http://kambing.ui.ac.id/iso/blankon/rilis/6.1/

Ok lets got to rock:

1. Get the “key”:

#apt-key adv –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv-keys B3F3334F

2. Edit your source list :

#gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

3. add this line :

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/wouterh/ppa/ubuntu karmic main

deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/wouterh/ppa/ubuntu karmic main

4. Update your source list with :

#apt-get update

5. Install NS-2 without tears:

#apt-get install ns nam xgraph

Yes. It’s Done. You don’t need set PATH or else. Just check it with command :

$ns

Then the command character change with : %. To Exit just type “exit” (without “”). Or just do an example with download this (please change the extension from simple.tcl.odt with simple.tcl) then run with command :
%ns simple.tcl
You will see this result :

Do you dare to compile ?

Wireshark is wellknown packet analyzer, so if you wanna mess arround to your neighboorhood, install this. But today i not show how to used it (maybe next time) but i will show ho o install it in *HARD” way, how ? that we compile it self.

Step 1: Download the source from here :
http://media-2.cacetech.com/wireshark/src/wireshark-1.4.3.tar.bz2

Step 2: Go to directory that that source exist.in my case is in /home/myusername/wireshark/
so you must do :
cd home/myusername/wireshark/

Step 3: change to root please:
$ sudo bash
it will be asking for your password, so enter your password

the the terminal goes by :
root@my-desktop:~/myusername/wireshark#
that sign # mean you now on root.

Step 4 : Extract that you downladed :
#tar -xvf wireshark-1.4.3.tar.bz2

Step 4: Before we compile, we need additional packet, so just type this :

#aptitude install autoconf libgtk2.0-dev libglib2.0-dev libgeoip-dev libpcre3-dev libpcap0.8-dev libtool byacc flex subversion

Step 5: Now, time to compiling the source code:

#cd wireshark-1.4.3

#./autogen.sh
#./configure
#make

This will take some time, but after eventually complete. Type:
#make install

To use wireshark, use :
sh wireshark

Problem is something we need sometimes, *confession about using GNU/Linux.

What ? Are you out your mind ? Do you nuts? Why you need that damn problem ? You do not like peaceful thing ?No…no.., i really support the peacefull things, i’m not trouble maker, This problem connected with IT stuff, IT experience and research in IT world, as an example : was, i windows user, but it give damn virus problem, it’s not guarantee, when every day updating our antivirus, and not guarantee too when we use anti adware, antispyware. So googling little bit, then i read some an article(*sorry i forgot the URL, but now i still find it) that article says, Linux is no need Antivirus ? Hah? what ? how it could be?, I read more and more. OK that’s it. I quit!.
When i decided to be very good guy with migrating to linux, i really got a damn much problem, like my sound card laptop not working, cannot play .avi files, , extremly, my wifi card can be used, only Ethernet Card is being used, honestly it consuming my resource though, but i never feel exhaust, and otherwise, it give me some curious feeling over and over again, and yeah, i don’t think it useless to solve my problem.

Many friend give some shit with saying” why you so hardening to use some difficult operating system ?”, “why you dont use a very very easy Operating System, like windows ?”, “it only click setup thing when you need install”. “and many people use it”. and bla .. bla…, yeah it’s true that using windows easier but i can tell you about my feeling right know, that linux is a easiest. When use linux i have some great feeling, give me feel to share  a lot, and make me wanna be a lecture, with purpose sharing my knowledge. And now as lecture i push my student use open document format to make report on their assignment, i don’t accept other format, like my lecture was, he push me using .doc and .ppt format. I think, it’s ok if i push the same way. What about you ? still using Microsoft Windows ? think again!

How to remote Microsoft Windows Machine with GNU/Linux Operating System ?

Yeah, long title, but short way to solve it, “remote” it’s like controlling other operating system which can be same OS or different, the activity kindly like remoting your television, got it ?

Ok how ?

Remote Desktop use protocol called remote desktop protocol, that protocol just design to communicate other OS with Microsoft Windows Machine, in GNU/Linux for using RDP, we need to install package called “rdekstop”, how to get this stuff:

#apt-get install rdesktop

Afer it finished, use with command :

#rdesktop ip.computer.to.remoted

i.e, we want remote computer with IP 192.168.2.2, then command :

#rdesktop 192.168.2.2

If you want to display fullscreen, just add command :

#rdesktop -A 192.168.2.2

and..tarra…, you can acces Microsoft Windows Machine from GNU/linux
